You really can’t predict everything that will happen on your wedding day. If you roll with the unexpected, your wedding can be just as magical regardless of changes. Kerry-Lynn and Jon’s Fontainebleau Inn wedding was the perfect example of my belief that moments with your people are more important than things. Their wedding photography celebrates their fun-loving nature and connections with the people they love.
On the shores of Lake Cayuga, the Fontainebleau Inn charms guests with its simple but beautiful inn and grounds. The views of the lake and mountains are gorgeous year round.
The inn has eight guest rooms available. You and your closest people can take over the inn for your whole wedding weekend! This always cuts down on some stress and makes a wedding more enjoyable.
The Fontainebleau Inn was just right for Kerry-Lynn and Jon’s down to earth, no fuss approach to their wedding. Everything they needed was on site from a spacious getting ready suite to the ceremony and reception locations. I loved how bright and airy the getting ready space was. The lighting made for beautiful photos. The building features some beautifully decorated rooms. We had a lot of fun capturing cinematic wedding party photos in a dark paneled library with bright books and paintings in the background.
I knew Kerry-Lynn and Jon’s July wedding would be a blast after I took their Oneonta engagement photos. This dog-loving couple brought their beautiful husky to that session. We braved the cold to explore the city’s downtown. The couple’s punk-inspired style made those photos uniquely them.
Their Fountainebleau Inn wedding was just as authentic and special as their engagement photos. Kerry-Lynn wore a beautiful dress and made the choice not to wear shoes. This ended up being great for portraits because we could really roam the grounds without heels getting stuck in the soft earth. It felt very carefree. We took portraits around the house and gardens before the ceremony. Afterward, we headed to the lake to catch some romantic photos as the fog rolled in over the mountains.
In typical Finger Lakes fashion, an unexpected rainstorm forced Kerry-Lynn and Jon to move their ceremony into the tent. The thunderstorms and change of ceremony location couldn’t shake the couple. They stayed chill the whole time and enjoyed their ceremony and reception regardless of the weather.
Kerry-Lynn and Jon did their wedding day the way they wanted to do it. At the reception, they skipped a traditional cake cutting in favor of a first scoop of ice cream. They joked and laughed so much through the whole thing, and you can see in the photos that they’re just so happy to be sharing that moment with each other. The ice cream from Cayuga Lake Creamery was a hit too!
