On the perfect October day, I hopped into the car and headed southeast to Henry Hill Farm. Let me tell ya, I actually really love my longer drives to weddings. With a house full of kids, I don’t get a lot of quiet time, so my wedding morning drives are a lovely time for me to reflect on the upcoming day and mentally prepare for all the photo aspects of a wedding day!
I arrived to a lovely little rustic barn and house, surrounded by fields, trees, a creek….basically everything a photographer wants on a wedding day. After a quick tour of the property I met up with Justin and Jessica to begin photographing their wedding day.
Henry Hill Farm is located in Howe’s Cave, NY, just a bit north of the Catskill region. It’s located on a quiet road, surrounded by fields. It boasts a beautiful area for getting ready, for both partners, an outdoor ceremony space, a porch that is perfect for cocktail hour, and a lovely barn adorned with twinkle lights, for the reception. I absolutely loved working here. Rooms were filled with natural light, and the landscape was stunning, especially once golden hour started. I mean…look at the portraits!
Justin and Jessica’s day was so much fun. Everywhere I looked people were laughing and smiling, and none more than Jessica and Justin. You could tell they were having the best day, surrounded by longtime friends, family members, and of course their adorable pup Finn, who was quite the dancer! The getting ready period had some happy tears, the ceremony, had a bundle of laughs (did you see Jessica’s vows?) and the dance floor was never empty during the reception. Let me tell ya, I was one happy photographer!
I truly hope I have a chance to go back to this venue again, so if you’re getting married here – reach out and let’s chat!
