Fall in Upstate, NY is a truly special time. In between our scorching summer and our never-ending winter, we have a brief period of absolute beauty. Cool crisp air, and rich vibrant colors (that’s kinda my thing). And is there a better venue to showcase our fall than the Lincklaen House in picturesque Cazenovia? I don’t think so.
The Lincklaen House is a stunning hotel that was built in the 1800’s and can be found on the main street of Cazenovia. This charming brick building is surrounded by cute little shops, wrought iron fences, and (in the fall) colorful trees! It’s also just a short jaunt down the road from the lake…another fav place for wedding photos! The interior is full of one of my favorite design elements – patterned wallpaper, which make for unique photo ops. And let me tell ya, the food here is superb. You do not want to miss out on a popover, nom.
I met up with Lily and Andrew at the Lincklaen House where they were getting ready. It was calm and quiet, which is rare and welcomed on a wedding day morning. After Andrew adjusted his floral bow-tie and Lily donned her Lillian West Lace gown, they shared a sweet and tender moment. Instead of seeing each other before hand, they chose to be near each other and exchange letters. It was such a special moment.
We then headed off to some family property for a short but sweet ceremony, followed by tasty hors d’oeuvres (wow I just tried to write that without looking up the spelling and eeesh). Then it was portrait time!
Lily and Andrew chose to do most of their portraits at the Lorenzo State Historic Site. To me this feels like a hidden gem in Cazenovia. There is the super popular lake park in Cazenovia, (which we did hit up later), but this place is one of my favorites. Lush gardens, trees, and unique buildings make for a great portrait location.
After portraits we headed back for an intimate dinner and dance party. We rounded out the evening with a bit more portrait time (they really indulged this photographer!) at the lake. It was the perfect end to the evening in my opinion. Just Lily and Andrew, sharing a moment on the main street of Cazenovia, as the sunset. Truly it was a wonderful day.
Hit me up and lets make it happen! Just fill out my contact form, and promise to save a popover for me and we’re golden.
