I was so excited when Claire reached out about her Skaneateles Wedding. I don’t photograph many winter weddings in upstate, NY because the weather is incredibly unpredictable! But whenever I book one my heart sings because there’s always something magical about those cozy evening weddings.
Claire reached out and told me her vison, warm, cozy, jewel tones, all set at the stunning Sherwood Inn in Skaneateles, NY. Of course as soon as we talked I knew her wedding was going to be spectacular, not only was her vision right up my ally, she was so fun to chat with!
The Sherwood inn is such a staple of Skaneateles. Located right across from the lake, it’s view is perfection. Inside, the warm wood interiors and antique furniture add an air of elegance to every event. I love all the little spaces the Inn has, from fun wallpaper, to unique couches, as well as a perfect entryway, there’s dozens of spots for beautiful photos.
You never know what you’ll get in upstate NY weather wise. We had a lovely day though for Claire and Matt’s Skaneateles wedding. A light layer of snow fell, lights adorned the buildings, and inside candles were lit along with a stunning display of florals (by the grooms mom!). From the getting ready to the touching and emotional first look on the staircase, to a heartfelt ceremony, to a raucous dance party, the day was non-stop full of love, fun, and color.
It was such a joy to photograph this wedding of such two wonderful folks and I can’t wait for the next time I get to be a part of a Skaneateles wedding. If that’s you, reach out and let’s chat! I can’t wait to hear from you!
