Traveling to the 1000 islands for a wedding is always a treat. It is so beautiful up on St. Lawrence River. I arrived at the designated pick up spot and my second photographer and I were picked up via boat. We traveled across the river to the small private family island where Amelia and Jon would be getting married.
Amelia and her girlfriends were getting their hair and make up done in one of the houses by the island. After Amelia donned her gorgeous hi-low gown from Jenny Yoo, Jon arrived for the first look. I loved how they did their first look with all of their friends watching from inside the cabin. It was such a sweet and touching moment.
After family portraits, and some romantic couples’ photos, we headed over to the other side of the island for the ceremony. It was a beautiful and emotional ceremony that included a poem written by Jon’s mom and read by his father. After the I do’s were said, the party started.
Guests were able to spend time on the lawn enjoying music and drinks and dogs were allowed to join in on the fun too!
After introductions, the first dance, and toasts, Jon Amelia and I snuck off the island to take some photos in an antique boat. We traveled around the St. Lawrence River capturing stunning moments with breathtaking views.
When we returned to the island Jon was met with a big surprise as his groomsmen tossed him into the river; a fun family tradition.
After drying off, Amelia and Jon rejoined the party and hit up the dance floor.
It was the perfect late summer night on the island and I had so much fun capturing all of these memories for them. Enjoy the photos .
