I was thrilled when Alex contacted me to capture her Finger Lakes elopement. Due to COVID-19, their original wedding plans had been postponed, but Alex and Dustin were eager to say “I do” and decided to hold a small, intimate ceremony in the Finger Lakes.

They rented a unique Airbnb in Aurora, NY, which was once a church. With its grand ceilings and stained glass windows, the space offered countless beautiful pockets of light to play with. Alex, with the help of her mother, got ready upstairs, and I couldn’t resist a mini portrait session in the charming room. The natural light streaming through the stained glass windows created an ethereal ambiance that added a magical touch to the photos.

As sunset approached, we headed down the street to the Wells College boathouse. With the setting sun and Cayuga Lake as their backdrop, Alex and Dustin exchanged their vows. The golden hour light made the moment even more special, casting a warm glow over the entire scene.

Following the ceremony, we celebrated with a champagne toast and took sunset portraits along the dock. It was a perfect evening for photos! The soft, fading light and the serene lake created a romantic atmosphere that perfectly captured the love and joy of the day. We then returned to the Airbnb, where Alex, Dustin, and their guests relaxed by a bonfire, enjoying appetizers and each other’s company. The cozy bonfire setting provided a wonderful opportunity for candid shots of the couple and their loved ones, capturing the genuine happiness and relaxed vibe of the evening.

It was such a lovely day, and I’m grateful Alex reached out, allowing me to be part of their special Finger Lakes elopement. Each moment was filled with love, laughter, and beauty, making it a day to remember.
