Chloe and AJ’s wedding at The John Joseph Inn wasn’t what they originally planned, but their day couldn’t have worked out better! This nature-loving couple had to change wedding venues after COVID-19 reschedules. The John Joseph Inn’s gardens turned out to be the perfect place for their emotional, fun celebration. From the first look to the dance party at their reception, their day was lively and real.
The John Joseph Inn is a beautiful hotel in the Finger Lakes region of New York. The decor embraces its rural surroundings with an elevated country aesthetic. Think wide windows and pretty wood furniture. In addition to the main building, there’s a guest house available to rent. The guest house is a wonderful getting ready location for weddings. Chloe and her wedding party prepped there, and the lighting brought her details to life beautifully.
June is gorgeous at The John Joseph Inn! When Chloe and AJ got married, the lush landscape brought color and energy to match the occasion. We decided it was an ideal spot for a first look. AJ was overwhelmed when he saw Chloe, and we all got emotional. I love that the greens and reds of the plants around them are colorful without distracting from the emotion of the scene.
After the first look, we headed into The John Joseph Inn. Chloe and AJ signed their ketubah, a Jewish marriage contract, surrounded by their closest friends and family. Then they exchanged vows privately upstairs. The simple but elegant décor of the inn created a lovely setting for this intimate moment.
AJ and Chloe’s wedding at The John Joseph Inn was so special because it centered their connection with each other and their family. This couple is incredibly kind and laidback. They love a good adventure and animals. (Chloe is a vet.) The vibe at The John Joseph Inn suited them.
Even though Chloe and AJ are laid back, they weren’t afraid to embrace color in their wedding! Their wedding party dressed in rose gold and Navy. With the incredible floral installation on their arch, their ceremony was bursting with blues, pinks, and yellows. The moment they walked back down the aisle, guests threw bright flower petals into the air. It really represented the joy everyone felt for Chloe and AJ.
As amazing as their details were, the ceremony and reception showed what mattered most to AJ and Chloe – having fun with their family. AJ’s brother performed the couple’s wedding ceremony as their family stood at their sides. After the ceremony, we snuck away for a few more portraits before a torrential downpour chased everyone into the tent. The live band got the party going, and Chloe and AJ danced the night away.
Chloe and AJ were such joys to work with. Theirs was my second wedding of the weekend after returning from maternity leave, and it was perfect. They were so happy with their wedding photos that they ordered albums for their parents and themselves!
I also feel so lucky that Chloe and AJ chose me to photograph multiple milestones. First, I took their Taughannock Falls engagement photos in 2019. Since their wedding, I’ve helped them welcome their twins to the world with a snowy maternity shoot. Even their puppy Wags joined in the fun. I’ve really enjoyed documenting these celebratory moments for their family.
I can’t wait to capture your vibrant love! Reach out, and tell me about yourself.
